In addition to the usual written radiology report, ATHLETIQA includes the Video Report: a visual explanation of the most relevant findings from the examination.
Through a brief 1–3 minute video, the most relevant sequences from the study are reviewed, with the identified structures and findings highlighted directly on the images.

Sports radiology is one of ATHLETIQA’s areas of expertise, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal injuries and the diagnostic needs of athletes.
Dr Javier Arnaiz has over 15 years of experience in radiology, including more than a decade working in Qatar at a leading sports medicine hospital. He also has experience as a radiologist at major international sporting events, including the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 and the ATP Qatar ExxonMobil Open.
He currently also works as a consultant radiologist for a professional La Liga football team, the WNBA, the United Arab Emirates national football team, and several teams in the Indian Super League.

Accurate musculoskeletal diagnosis requires a thorough understanding of anatomy and of how injuries and other conditions present across different imaging modalities.
At ATHLETIQA, we specialise in the assessment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and other structures of the musculoskeletal system, integrating different imaging modalities to provide a comprehensive and clinically focused evaluation.
ULTRASOUND-GUIDED
TREATMENTS.
Ultrasound guidance enables precise procedures through real-time visualisation of the target structure and continuous monitoring of the needle tip.
Procedures include joint injections with corticosteroids, PRP or hyaluronic acid; hydrodilatation for frozen shoulder; treatments for tendinopathies, bursitis and tenosynovitis; trigger finger treatment; nerve blocks, hydrodissection and fluid aspiration.
Dr. Javier Arnaiz
Dr Javier Arnaiz is a radiologist specialising in musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries, with over 15 years of experience. His career combines clinical practice with elite athletes, university teaching, and research in musculoskeletal imaging.
He has developed much of his career internationally, including more than a decade working in Qatar and involvement in major sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019, and the ATP Qatar ExxonMobil Open. He currently works as a consultant radiologist with international professional teams and national squads.
Médico Radiólogo con más de 15 años de experiencia, especializado en enfermedades musculoesqueléticas, lesiones deportivas y procedimientos guiados por ecografía.
Finalizó sus estudios de Medicina en la Universidad de Cantabria en 2002 y se especializó en Radiología en 2007 en el Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla, en Santander. Completó su formación en Radiología en Estados Unidos y Francia.
Su práctica diaria se centra en el diagnóstico por imagen de atletas profesionales, principalmente futbolistas y jugadores de baloncesto de primer nivel. Ha trabajado durante más de diez años en Qatar en uno de los hospitales de referencia mundial en medicina deportiva y ha participado como radiólogo en eventos internacionales como la Copa del Mundo FIFA 2022, los Mundiales de Atletismo IAAF 2019 y el torneo ATP Qatar ExxonMobil.
Actualmente trabaja como radiólogo consultor para un equipo profesional de fútbol de La Liga (España), la WNBA, la selección nacional de fútbol de Emiratos Árabes Unidos y varios equipos de la Superliga India de Fútbol.
También es profesor de Ecografía en la Facultad de Fisioterapia de la Universidad de Cantabria y fue anteriormente miembro del cuerpo docente de Weill Cornell MedicineQatar. Sus principales líneas de investigación incluyen la imagen del cartílago, las lesiones apofisarias y el estudio por imagen del músculo. Es autor de más de 50 publicaciones científicas centradas en la imagen musculoesquelética.
